Going to a picnic, or maybe a birthday party? Or just want to enjoy a great wine with your partner at home? Here are our tips for where to pick up your next bottle, plus some nibbles to go with it.

A glass, a bottle, or a tasting

For lovers of natural wines with body and soul. At Vin de Marie, our doors are open from 10:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. Come and choose for yourself, or let us recommend a bottle. Too far to Dlouhá?
Visit our online shop.

Vin de Marie

The Vin de Marie wine shop has been a jewel on Dlouhá Street since the middle of last year. Although the pleasant space invites you to sit for longer, you can also buy a bottle to go, and drink it wherever your heart desires.

"We have a range of bottles mainly from Central European winemakers, plus some from France, Italy, and Georgia. We like to work with winemakers with who share our values and a similar view of gastronomy – we choose producers who make do with minimal intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar," explains sommelier Zdeněk Oudes in an interview for Food and Joy.

If you're not sure which wine to choose from the extensive range, no problem – the experienced staff will be happy to help you. In addition, Vin de Marie also sells delicious La Perle sardines, which will enhance any house party or spring picnic.

Veltlin

If you haven't yet visited Veltlin, that needs fixing. This wine bar offers natural, authentic wines from the regions of the former Habsburg monarchy, meaning there's something for everyone. A great place for a night out, but also for a quick wine purchase to go.

Le Caveau

Do you have a weakness for French wines? If so, head to Le Caveau, located on Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. Expect wines from regions such as Bordeaux, Vallée du Rhône, Burgundy or Languedoc-Roussillon, as well as excellent crémants or Champagnes.

We particularly recommend stopping by Le Caveau before a house party or a picnic with family or friends – in addition to excellent wines, they have fine French cheeses and foie gras, and you can visit their boulangerie (bakery) to fill your picnic basket with a French baguette, croissants or pain au chocolate.

When summer approaches, reach for their light, slightly sparkling frizzante wine. Prosekárna currently has five locations in Prague, in Vinohrady, Letná, Myslíkova Street, Petrské náměstí and Vysočany.

Winegeek

The true kingdom of organic and natural wines. That's how you can define this spot in Holešovice, which favours wines without unnecessary chemistry. You'll find mainly bottles from Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria and France, but there are also natural wines from domestic Czech vineyards.

The owners of Winegeek know the their winemakers personally, so you can be sure of quality and authenticity. And if you can't decide on a single bottle, go for the aptly named Six Pack.

Once a hardware store, now a wine shop, the wine bar Merlot Dušní is also worth a visit. Its interior will transport you back to the old days, and the wine selection is similarly intoxicating, primarily focused on French regions.
