6 spots to find the best sweet buns with cream in Prague
Anyone who grew up with a Czech grandma will know sweet buns with šodó, or savour fond memories of extra helpings of little ducat buns with cream from the school canteen. Sure, they might seem like the same thing – but don’t be fooled. Šodó is made by whipping egg yolks, sugar and wine into a foam, while cream is usually made from milk, eggs, vanilla and rum. Both are divine, and so in the interest of balance, we’ve selected spots which serve buns with šodó and buns with cream. Go and indulge your sweet tooth!
Cukrárna Myšák
Once you taste them, you won’t go anywhere else. The buns with vanilla cream from Cukrárna Myšák taste exactly as they look – amazing! Golden and perfectly risen, served with vanilla cream that no one can resist. At Myšák, they also like to work with seasonal ingredients, so in June you’ll find strawberries hiding under the cream, and blueberries in August. And, if you want to enjoy their delicious buns in the comfort of your home (read: bed), you can order them right to your (front) door.
