The perfect date, catch-ups friends and family, or to pick up a bottle for dinner or a picnic – there’s always a good reason to visit a natural wine shop. Here are the best spots in Prague to taste wines from winemakers who are serious about nature.

A glass, a bottle, or a tasting

For lovers of natural wines with body and soul. At Vin de Marie, our doors are open from 10:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. Come and choose for yourself, or let us recommend a bottle. Too far to Dlouhá?
Visit our online shop.

Vršovice

Fajnšmekr is a modest space offering a rich selection of wines, cheeses and cold cuts. In their own words, "we believe that it makes sense to drink healthy wines that are made traditionally, handcrafted and without chemicals, supporting winemakers who do not plunder, but cultivate and protect nature and the landscape". As the spring evenings continue to get warmer, it’s hard to resist finding a spot in their garden – sitting out on the street with a glass of wine, soaking up the atmosphere of the neighbourhood.

Combine natural wine with an excellent dinner or lunch at Kro, with locations in both Vinohrady or Vršovice. (Or head to the one in Karlin – see below for tips on Karlin establishments.) Try the fresh, playful wines from Burgenland winemaker Markus Altenburger.

A highlight of this summer is the reopening of Villa 63 – they’ve had a little makeover, and you can now sip natural wine inside in the café, a perfect hideout for when the weather turns.

For morning coffee and evening wine (literally), check out Ráno kávu večer víno on Kodaňská street.

Holešovice and Bubeneč

Make like the Holešovice, Letná and Dejvice locals and raise a glass at Na břehu Rhôny (you can also find them in Letná and lower Holešovice, Vinohrady, Výton and Maltézské náměstí), Sedmička on Strossmayerovo náměstí or Winegeek on Řezáčovo náměstí (nicknamed Heřmaňák). In lower Holešovice, wander down Osadní street, where you can choose from three places: Osada, The Winery – the wine bar of the nearby The Eatery restaurant, and fans of naturals and Katka Jakusová's pizza should make a beeline to Slice Slice Baby on the corner.

Enjoy an afternoon reward at bistro Šodó, whose co-founders Honza and Zuzka like to personally visit winemakers in South Moravia.

Sip a glass of natural in the afternoon and evening at Luft, a bar next to the Academy of Fine Arts. The menu includes classics from Milan Nestarec or the popular "orangeade" Vulcanica from Pivnice Čajkov.

From Holešovice, head across the river to Karlín, taking in the modern development at Flemming's or the Veltliner garden, where interesting tastings are often held.

Savour brunch or the atmosphere in the outdoor garden with a glass of wine in hand at everyone's favourite, Etapa.

End your weekly stroll through the Old Town at Vin de Marie in Dlouhá street, or treat yourself to a nice evening in the adjacent tasting restaurant Marie B, where, if you wish, they will serve you some of the wines from Vin de Marie with your courses.
