Beer experiences in Prague: From tasting to visiting a mini brewery

Think you can't give beer as a gift? We'll convince you otherwise. We've rounded up beer experiences you can give to loved ones all year round. Use one of our vouchers – stick it on a beer bottle, hide it under the label of a bottled beer, or use it as a beer coaster.
For those who like to taste
They'll love the round table at Pult. The tasting of lagers and specials, with which you will also be served a beer-worthy meal, is designed for four people. This is the perfect gift for a group of friends..
If you have someone nearby who likes to test their palate, Bottler tasting is also a good option, also at the Pult. You can come and play a bit of a game, and taste 10 beers blind. It's a great thing to do in pairs..
Do you have a wish list to discover new tastes and especially new beer styles? Then put yourself in the hands of Olga from Beergeekwho will guide you practically and theoretically through a classic and unusual repertoire of beers.
Straight to the source
A tasting like this might tempt you to take a trip to a brewery. At the big breweries like Pilsner Urquell and Radegast , they'll be happy to show you around, as well as at Proud, in Velke Popovice, in Prague's U Fleků, and outside Prague in Únětice and the Lobeč brewery in the Kokořín region.
Your loved ones can go on a trip for wine and beer to South Moravia to Wild Creatures or again to Kokořínsko, to Černokostelecky brewerywhere you can combine the pleasant (and technical) with history in the brewing museum.
For lovers of old Prague
Those who like to stroll around old monuments and especially the Old Town will appreciate The Beer Zoo by Ambiente. Lucie Janečková, a bartender from the PIVO Institute, will guide you through the tried and tested taprooms and pubs where beer and history flow together. Want a little teaser? Listen to this short podcast from one of these walks.
For those who want to learn a bit of the craft
There's a special place in the heart and kitchen of UM for anyone who loves to learn something new. Right outside the kitchen, there's a proper taproom where Lucka Janečková teaches The Tap School, picking up the gauntlet from the founder of the course, Lukáš Svoboda. In the "School", she will explain the intricate paths of beer from tank to glass, teach you how to tap all the classic Czech pours, and how to operate different types of taps. Are you in?
If you'd like to jump right into the practice without all the talking, you can sign up for the Hladinka course. You can then use the experience when you're on tap at a friend's wedding, or when you decide to borrow a tap for your own garden.
A voucher for a metre of beer
If your friends are really into beer, they'll be able to handle these 9 beers solo. Or if they like you (at least a little), they'll share. You can get a beer metre voucher on our e-shop , or at any of the Lokál pubs.
